The following ten films emerged triumphant from our jury's rigorous judging. The Box was awarded the Pandora at the Curiosity Festival event and Forlorn was the winner of the People's Choice Award. We encourage you to view them all and choose your own favourite.

Curious About Time is a documentary that explores whether or not people have a visual concept of time. Curious About Time is the first film for Toronto-based producer and director Carolyn Taylor and Aurora Brown.

Forlorn is a horror film about an inquisitive sheriff who discovers an abandoned pioneer village while searching for a missing person. Forlorn directed by first time filmmakers Jesse Cook and John Geddes, who reside in Collingwood, Ontario.

Mounted: The Unraveling of a Craft

Mounted: The Unraveling of a Craft is a documentary about taxidermy, the preservation and display of dead animals. Cambridge, Massachusetts based filmmaker Anna Malsberger completed the film while attending the Harvard University Extension School.

Noir En Homme

Noir En Homme (Black in Men) is an intense film about a man, woman and child who are trying to escape an unknown threat. Noir en Homme was directed by Montreal filmmaker Alexandre Gibault, who completed the film while attending Concordia University.

Octaves Apart

Octaves Apart is a visual poem that explores the reality of magic, the assumed boundaries of perception and the truth that may exist outside those boundaries. Octaves Apart was directed and produced by Montreal filmmaker Elinor Svoboda who is currently completing a film for the Documentary Channel.

The Box

The Box is a dramatic and cautionary tale about what happens when a young couple argues over the contents of a box. The Box was written and directed by Toronto filmmaker David Quinn who has years of experience in film and television production but a short history in making short films.

The Welcoming

The Welcoming, a film in the tradition of silent German mountain films, is about a young man and his wife who move to a small mountain town only to find that the locals have a curious way of keeping out strangers. First time filmmaker Rory Gunderson completed The Welcoming while studying at McGill University in Montreal.

Unbeknownst

Unbeknownst follows two friends who are in a precarious situation involving a videotape they are not supposed to see. Unbeknownst was written and directed by Dexter Ico, a Toronto-based producer/ director/ editor with several years experience in film and corporate communications video production.

Wide Awake and Dreaming

Wide Awake and Dreaming is about a young woman who discovers lucid dreaming as an escape from real life. Wide Awake and Dreaming was written and directed by Seattle-based filmmaker Dawnee Dodson who has been making experimental short films and documentaries since 1996.
