Congratulations to Jesse Cook, John Geddes and the entire cast and crew of Forlorn, the winner of the 2006 Curiosity Festival People's Choice Award for 2006!
The People's Choice Award consists of a $2500.00 equipment package and a one year membership to IndieAccess.ca. Thousands of people logged on to watch the films and cast a vote for their favourite. It was a close and competitive contest, but in the end Forlorn emerged triumphant.
Thank you to our top 10 finalists for your wonderful storytelling, the hours and hours of hard work required to produce films of such high calibre and for your interest in the theme of curiosity. Many thanks to our sponsors without whom the Curiosity Festival would not have come to be: Fjord, IndieAccess.ca, and Studio M. And last, but never least, thank you so much to the thousands and thousands of film lovers who visited the site to screen the films.
Our inaugural year has been an incredible one - a success quite beyond our wildest imaginings. We recently came across a quote from film director Robert Rodriguez who said, "When you take the technology and mix it with art, you always come up with something innovative." We couldn't agree more. We're working on some interesting extensions of the Curiosity Festival that will blend art and technology with business in interesting and innovative ways. Stay tuned.
